Matt Ford is a Detroit-born, Chicago-based writer, editor, teacher, artist and anthropologist. They currently archive at WBEZ and the Rebuild Foundation and recently interned at the Art Institute of Chicago.
One-half of the music review duo M+M, Matt is writing a memoir on the human condition through their undergraduate journey, tentatively titled On Sight. Their profiles, opinions and news have been featured in the Chicago Reader, South Side Weekly, Curbed Detroit, HuffPost, the Wall Street Journal, GENTS magazine and in various college literary publications.
Anthropologically, Matt researches the relationship between music and spirituality, the history of gender and sexuality and the educational experiences of students of color. Matt also mentors and teaches art and social justice to youth, often employing autobiography, musical iconography and divinity in lessons and coursework.
Matt studied at Vassar and Morehouse Colleges.
